Download Speed Monitor

Author: The-Black-Ninja
Version: 1.2 Revision 1
Description: Displays your internet speed in real time through a UI.

Commands:
Notes:
  • speedui command is only available to the bot console.

speedui = Opens up the speed monitor UI and displays your internet traffic in real time.
speedinfo = Displays your internet traffic in a text line in the bot console or in the game product, not real time. 200 access default.

I figure this will be especially useful if you're hosting a game and people are complaining that it's slow, this UI will tell you just how much internet you're using. There's alot that can be done with this for monitoring your internet traffic, so if you have a suggestion, please let me know.

Download only one of the two versions posted. The only things that are different are the filenames themselves, they will share the same script name, which avoids command errors and all that nasty stuff that I won't get into :P That being said, you can't stick both scripts in the same folder and expect to use them both, you'll have to disable one to use the other, or just keep the one you want to use in the scripts folder.

Lite version = Includes speedui, speedinfo, and shows upload and download speeds in real time.
Regular version = Everything in the lite version, but includes additional information about the status of your network cards (connected, or disconnected) that is refreshed every 15 seconds.

The Script is all together and I cant copy it right.

What I mean is, it looks like this:

HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH...

When I copy this it ends up in a big Line.

Nice script, I think it could be pretty useful.
Could you add a command (speedinfo?) to display the current values of each form?
Also, would alerts be a good idea? Ex. If your BPS is at 0 (if that's what it would be when you have no internet), then it would make an addchat/msgbox saying that there is no activity.
Looks nice though, good job.

That's a problem with your browser, usually on Internet Explorer. You can try right clicking and choosing Save File As, maybe that will work.

Not sure about the speedinfo...you mean like, just for a fast reference? Instead of opening the UI, it would give you a text value? That could be done. I like the alert thing too...0 = no connection, >X KB/s download/upload will set off an little chime saying you're exceeding whatever limit you're trying to keep under and stuff.

For the speedinfo - Yea, or some other user could see it in the channel (or if I didn't want to minimize starcraft to see my speed).

Okay added. I also made two versions for people to choose from, the lite version will always have the most basic stuff, whereas the other version will have more information regarding the status of your network as I add on to the script.

Yeah this script apparently causes problems when running it on Vista or Windows 7. Haven't figured out why yet.

You realize that speed info displays the download speed of the bot's computer, not other users.

And I doubt I'm going to try to find the problem because I'm working on Windows XP.
