I’m pleased to announce that we have decided to release the source code to the project to you, the community. The code is available to everyone, but we’re looking for someone who is interested in taking over management of the repository.

The few of us that are still here will continue to stick around as much as we can to provide what information we have available. If you’re interested in helping manage the repository and you have a decent understanding of VB6 and git, or if you have time to work on documentation for the wiki, contact me via PM.

Sorry, but I think you are mixing things up here. You are the one who gets bitter because Battle.net 1.0 along with its products is dying. It is actually dead already, but you have yet to realize that. Maybe you do not want to accept this, because it was the only place you ever were "the man" to some people.

I'm bitter that everyone here has become an asshole who doesn't give a fuck about this great bot, yes, but you guys are the ones who are bitter about the project being dead. Seriously...there's more than enough capability to turn things around and make it successful again. We have people, we have the skill, we have the resources...but where the hell did all the ambition go?

I'm sure Stealth would be disgusted with how things fell apart in his absence. Even if he's no longer here and has other priorities in life, this was still a pretty big deal to him back in the day, and it was historical in the gaming world. The attitudes I've seen across the forum since it's "death" would make anyone who actually cares sick to their stomachs. It's one thing if you don't want to work on it anymore, but it's another when you just treat the project like complete and total shit and think anyone who wishes to see it thrive is an idiot...

In all honesty, the open-sourcing was a great idea, if it can be completed. It gives the project a chance of survival...but the way everyone is treating the project itself in the present time is just disgusting. If you don't want to work on it, fine. Just don't act like it's worthless. I'm sure five years ago your answers would be completely different without a lack of motivation.

If you think so, then maintain the code yourself. No one is stopping you. It's open source.

Nobodys treating it like shit. They released the source so others, such as yourself, who want to see the project thrive could take it upon themselves to further develop it. However, in my mind, you are merely a leach with no will to learn and expect all the previous developers to drop everything and continue to develop a project that they no longer have an interest in. You refuse to take it upon yourself to develop, or even learn how to develop the project further.

It's not worthless -- and nobody is saying it is worthless. They're not interested in it, without motivation. Yes, 5 years ago, I was completely motivated to work on this project, and I would have wholeheartedly been willing to join the development team. In fact, I made scripts and helped others with creating scripts. Take it upon yourself to pick up the project if you still have the motivation. Stop complaining that we're not interested.

I find it funny everyone thinks that Battle.net is dieing, I have the same numbers of people joining my channels and games as I did at this time last year, and the year before. In-fact I have nearly double the number.
