Maddox is a bigger piece of shit than that of an elephant.

His entire argument was epically stupid, and that's a perfectly fine thing to say. Not that it was 'cosmic' or 'really large' or whatever shit he said this time, not that it was horrible and flawed, but because it goes beyond what you'd expect for a stupid, flawed argument. Just for starters, size and distance don't always refer to spacial measurements. Bloody stool.

There's also such things as hyperbole, which is used a lot, especially in scenarios were people are going to exaggerate their comments in places such as twitter and facebook. What you ate for dinner doesn't really matter, and no one should really care. People are going to use hyperbole to make it seem important. This device always seems to be forgotten.

IT'S NOT MEANT TO BE TAKEN LITERALLY.

No, it's not meant to be taken literally.
That doesn't mean that I don't cringe every time I see/hear them used by someone who has no right or understanding of their use.

Every non-example provided in that trash of a posting was a non-non-example, they're all perfectly fine.

Please, give me a non-example.

If hipsters can cringe when they hear their favourite underground band now being played on the radio, nerds can cringe when a word that previously was used by us alone is now over used in mainstream conversation.

It's like kids using QQ because they think it's tears. I've even heard people say LOL means lots of laughs.. Kill them all.

#EPIC @FAIL

Seriously though, when mainstream Katy Perry uses the word "epic fail" in a song, I want to hide myself in a dark enclosed area in the fetal position.

Someone should tell that guy how to remove friends from facebook. Half of his argument would be moot.
