Hello, everyone.

As you all may be aware, Battle.net 2.0 lacks a a plethora of social features besides Facebook integration.

However, there has been some interesting rumblings regarding the next major patch of Battle.net 2.0. Blizzard representatives on the official StarCraft II forums have hinted at the month of December for this patch; and one of the features that this patch would implement would be the long-awaited and community-desired revival of chat channels and clan support.

Furthermore, on the StarCraft II forums, which can be found here, a devoted fan has posted what appears to be a Battle.net 2.0 screenshot of a chat channel:

Posted Image

This image is unofficial and hasn't been confirmed by a Blizzard representative; though, it would appear that the channels would be revamped to include new features while being similar to the ones on Battle.net 1.0.

The poster then goes on to say:

Quote

When you load up New Battle.net system, many new changes will be implemented. First, Chat Room/Channels will come back. Once again, you may now idle away or rage up a storm. Clans/guilds will come back. Rule #1, never talk about the new channels. Each Clan will be allowed 1 bot for chat nerds to play around with; they will be able to ban someone from a channel, autogreet a user or even host a match. Another new change will be the Battle.net forum. Players can participate and read forum posts right inside battle.net without having to open a fail web browser. Each and every window you see will be moveable and resizable.

Is it true Bnet2.0 will be used for any blizzard game? I was reading in another thread WoW and WC3 or even DII might use Bnet2.0 too.
It sounds very likely we get a new chat with DIII, right?

WoW already is connected to BNet 2.0, so it's extremely likely that Diablo III will have the same thing.

There was some talk about upgrading Legacy games (WC3, D2) but to be honest, I don't think BLizzard will bother.

Yes, the plan is to eventually port all Battle.net 1.0 games to Battle.net 2.0. Chat will also be used in the D3 Battle.net.

Lets hope that, but we all know WarCraft III and Diabolo II are lacking in support. The last Patch for WarCraft was one year ago iirc. <_<

Speak for yourself, I know for a fact War3 and D2 aren't lacking in support.

The public cannot see anything happening to them though, which is where Blizzard is going wrong.

They have also never really taken in suggestions for WC3 so everyone is discouraged making new ones, making the development seem to be non-existant.

Personally. I am going to be mad if Blizzard doesn't patch W3 to BNet 2.0

Because of the GHost++ bot running around on BNet 1.0 autohosting.

I can't even play the games I like anymore. Due to GHost autohost noobs.

You would be mad because they don't port an 8+ years old game to a new gaming platform? They could simply shut down the classic Battle.net servers altogether and you could do nothing about it. You should be happy that they don't even consider that at this time. Because then you would have to use shitty private servers.

Shitty? PvPGN is like heaven if you take a look at BNet 1.0. Have you been sleeping in a cave for the last year or something? BNet 1.0 is overloaded with spam, autohosters and noobs.

I already know Blizzard doesn't give a shit to customers. That way they'll walk themselves to their doom.

Off-topic: Activision did with their 'newest' games. 'Modern Warfare 2' and 'Black ops' (Gay Ops) with the most shittiest anti cheat ever. Even worse then Blizzard's nice 'Warden'

That may partially apply to WarCraft III, but not all games. Classic Battle.net is dying in general, mainly because people just move on to the newer games. I doubt that the old games would become active again, if they ported them to Battle.net 2.0. The increasing inactivity is the reason they're reducing their support in that area. And that's just more than comprehensible in my opinion.

Blizzard doesn't give a shit about their customers? Were you sleeping in a cave for the past 10 years or something? They have continuously patched their games. Show me other companies that support their games that long. They can't provide lifetime support for their products, no company can. The glorious times of (classic) Battle.net are over and people have to accept that.

Blizzard has the best customer support for any game company.

(Notice the full stop? That means there is no argument. It is the best.)

PvPGN is shitty simply because of the people who represent it.

So...back on topic here, the chat channels are nothing like what was shown in the original post. Is anything going to happen with StealthBot, or are you guys just going to wait forever and let it die, because honestly the extreme loss of users over the years is a bit ridiculous.

Well the way I see it right now it's all sitting on Hdx getting a copy of StarCraft 2 and then enough motivation to do whatever it is that he does.

The loss of users if mainly because of the big lag between 2.6 and 2.7.
Anyone who likes and still uses SB uses it because they like it on Bnet Classic.

:D Anyone wanna help out on that?!?!
I'm moving right now, I *should* have real internet sometime later this month.
As for motivation... I like SC2's protocol, its new and interesting, well somewhat it's encryption is a lame copy/paste of WoW's. But ya.. as soon as I get a real copy I plan on at least getting a basic chat bot running. {I had one during the beta for like, 3 hours, then a patch came and I didn't bother to update it}

Also, good news about Bnet 2, No hashes! Atleast there wasnt during the beta, there was basic version information given but that can be a simple config entry.

I like how this fantasy of a new version of stealthbot keeps playing out in various threads. It is a pretty safe bet that StealthBot will never connect to Battle.Net 2.0.
