Name: Identifier Script
Author: Sierra.Komodo
Version: 1.00 R4
Description: Provides an improvement to StealthBot's channel protection and safelist system.

Extended Description
This script is designed to assist in channel moderation by automatically
kicking users that are not found on the database, then banning upon
reaching a certain number of join attempts.

Any users added to the 'identified' database will not be kicked or banned
by this script, but will not be protected from actions performed by other
scripts.

Also, any users found on this bots safelist, or with access to the bot, will
not be protected from this scripts actions in the current version.

Commands
idsremove
Removes users from the IDS database.
Syntax: /idsremove username

idsadd
Adds users to the IDS database. Requires a reason to be given or the user
will not be added
Syntax: /idsadd username reason(one word)

Known Bugs
The script will not automatically unban users if added to the database after
being banned. You will have to manually do this yourself until a method is
found to fix this.

When adding a user to the database, you have to give a reason or the script
will produce an error and fail to add the user.

When adding a user to the database, and inputting a reason, the script will
only register one word from your reason.

There will be a few seconds delay upon a user joining the channel before
he is kicked/banned.

To-Do List
Add an option for users to automatically be added to the identified list based
on access, flags, clan rank, and CRS rank.

Add an option to be notified via whisper or /f m when an unidentified user
joins the channel.

Well, for starters... You shouldn't even be able to vouch for yourself, or that would in a way defeat the purpose.

Anyway, atm I'm still attempting to figure out how to get the script to not require a reason be added. If you wish I can upload a version that doesn't include reasons.

Script Updated:

'// Fixed a bug where the bot would produce an error if a reason was not given.
'// Fixed an error where idsRemove would not detect a user in the database

English?
You cannot get this to work on SB v2.6
Someone could re-write it for 2.6, but I am almost 100% certain nobody will ever do that.

Update to v2.7 as its better AND support is no longer provided to 2.6
Choose Functional.

Ok for starters.. A bot on version 2.7 will automatically ban people that hold the flag 'b', and will automatically ban any users that are squelched if you have ip banning enabled.

Second, I've been using 2.7 for channel moderation since it was first released and, in my experience, is more reliable than 2.6 had been.

Third, I honestly don't think anyones going to downgrade a script.

Also, I'm working on updating the script now. The next version, 1.3, will automatically unban users when added, be able to automatically add users based on access/flags, and have variables in the ban messages.

Based on your known bugs, here's an outline of how to fix them.

Quote

The script will not automatically unban users if added to the database after
being banned. You will have to manually do this yourself until a method is
found to fix this.

I suggest using this in the command sub.
    Sub event_command(Command)
    ... your other stuffs...
    If Command.name = "add" Then
    'Get the username by splitting'
    AddQ "/unban " & User
    End If
    End Sub

Quote

When adding a user to the database, you have to give a reason or the script
will produce an error and fail to add the user.
When adding a user to the database, and inputting a reason, the script will
only register one word from your reason.

This covers both.
    If Ubound(Split(Command.Args)) > 1 Then
    Args = Split(Command.Args, " ", 2) '// Splits the arguments of the command into exactly 2 parts.'
Reason = Args(1) '// 1st part is the username, 2nd is the reason. This can include spaces'
    'Do whatever...'
    Else
Command.Respond "You must supply a reason!"
    End If

Quote

There will be a few seconds delay upon a user joining the channel before
he is kicked/banned.

Probably just the bot, not an error with your script.

You'll find this wiki page to be very useful.

Well I've already figured out a method to get those two bugs fixed. Turns out I'd had an update that fixed the error given if no reason was given and forgot to upload it.

For banning, my issue was 'Command BotVars.Username, "/unban " & cmdArr(0), True' was giving an error. I figured out the reason - I had 'Command' as a variable declared in the sub. I changed that to Cmd and not commands can be called from the subs :P

As for reasons, I used UBounds to check how many arguments there were, and if theres only one argument, it wont be looking for a reason and will just put 'N/A'.

I'm currently going through and rewriting a few details of the script since it hasn't been updated since I improved my scripting and all >.>

Script Updated:

Quote

Change Log:
2.00 R0
Script rewritten using new, cleaner formatting.
Added variables to ban and kick messages.
Added automatic identification by access and flag.
Fixed the ‘alert’ feature to let users know when someone attempts to join the channel. It did not function before.
Added idsCheck command.
Updated connection string.

Note that there are two files attached - The script itself, and an additional 'readme' help file in RTF format. Please make sure to read this file before posting in this thread for assistance. I realise it may not be in the best format and order for user friendliness, but it's a new system. I'm always open to suggestions.

when I write /kick or /ban in SB 2.7 a bot writes me "Error: This command requires channel operator status."

I add your script on a bot and it wrote at the first start
"11:50:15 AM] Scripting runtime error '1024' in IDSIdentifierScript_2-00R0.txt: (line 358; column 0)
Предполагается наличие инструкции
Offending line: >> "Example: " & BotVars.Trigger & "idscheck " & BotVars.Username"

restart bot

"Warning: There was a flags update received for a user that we do not have a record for. This may be indicative of a server split or other technical difficulty."

Ok, so for starters.. Your bot needs to have OP status in whatever channel it's in (That means your bot needs to have the hammer icon). I can't do anything about that on my side, it's something you'll need to set up.

There's currently only 3 ways to get operator status in a channel. If the channel is a clan channel, your bot either needs to be the clan shaman or be given op status by the shaman. If it's an OP channel, either your bot must be in a channel with its username (I.E, for my bot ACS_Riggor, it would be channel OP ACS_Riggor) or be given OP status by whoever owns the channel.

For the flags update error, I've never come across that before but I have a hunch - Are you using the bot on an official battle.net server (USWest, USEast, Asia, or Europe)?

And finally, the scripting error.. I'm looking into that now.

I found the error - I forgot to add '& vbNewLine & _' to the end of a line in the command creation section. My bad for not testing the script before I released it. Found a couple other errors that are fixed now.

But I'll have to upload the update later.. Internet's being a pain.

Theres your problem. Stealthbot doesn't support private servers as they do things differently from battle.net.

Anyway, here's the update:

Quote

Change Log
2.00 R1
Fixed a command creation error for idsCheck.
Fixed an error that occurred when writing settings for the first time.
Changed ‘Shell’ to ‘IDS’. This was left over from the template.
Fixed idsCheck command so that it gives a response if a requested user does not exist in the database.
Fixed an error with idsRemove where it would fail to execute.
Fixed an error on user join where the script would think a user was in the database when he wasn’t and vice versa.
Fixed an error of user join where the script would fail to kick/ban a user, and would fail to add the user to the database.
Changed default idsByRank values to ‘Flag’ and ‘S’. The script, by default, will not ban or kick safelisted users.
Reminded self to always test scripts before releasing them to the public.

Why not AddQ? It's a bnet command, not just a SB command.

You simply have to bypass Stealthbots internal command manager, since it does not know how to detect channel OP status on PvPGN servers properly.
Quite simply, you just need to AddQ the command as opposed to using Command BotVars.Username ...etc...

If, as SierraKomodo is saying, for some reason this gives an error, then one can do:
Command BotVars.Username, "/say /kick " & Username & " " Reason, True

Or whatever.

I know you said you found a fix for this, but I would add users banned by the script to a dictionary.
Since Bnet bans are undone when the operator who made them leaves the channel (including leaving B.Net) a dictionary would be perfect since it would be wiped every bot restart/reload.

Just adding
AddQ "/unban " & Username

Seems stupid because it would doubt the queue stress: which is a major issue for bots as for my bots at least I constantly have to optimise my code to keep the outputs as short but logical as possible.
Queue space is a 'valuable resource', but the 200 bytes of memory this might use is a joke, so I would use my method.
If Dict.Exists(Username) Then AddQ "/unban " & Username

Choose Functional.

Dictionaries does sound like it would be a better method, however I don't have any knowledge on how they work or how to use them. How would I go about creating a dictionary, writing the entries to it, deleting entries, etc?

Hey guys,

I have a question concerning 2147417848 error I have started to get yesterday after I hosted the bot.

I have not turned on SB in a long time, switched from XP x32 to Win7 x64 and everything worked fine, until some point when bot just started crashing randomly. The script is taking too long to execute etc. Okay, so I checked the logs. After finding the errors, I have gave the bot to a friend who hosts other bots, he has the same error. But no script takes too long to execute.

The bot crashes when this users joins in. I saw a similar pattern here. But with no identifier script. HERE

Line 168 and 169 are:

If LCase(Banned) = "true" Then Exit Sub

EDIT:
I managed to reproduce the error with username GurmanZ

[12:45:43 PM] Offending line: >>
[12:46:06 PM] -> Welcome to StealthBot Beta v2.7 - Build 482, by Stealth.

For a moment I thought I had the solution but, it didn't work. I tried adding that nickname to vouchers(group) Gurmanz, I vouched as gurmanz. It did not made the error reproduce just crash. After I changed everything to Gurmanz both ids script and database manager, the error was reproduced and it did not fix the problem.

Anyone got any clue?

I updated the script to new release same thing.

Just from looking at the errors, I'm thinking it may be an issue with the bot, not the script, based on this:

[12:45:43 PM] Scripting runtime error '-2147417848' in Identifier Script: (line 168; column 0)
[12:45:43 PM] Automation error

I'll go do some trials with this, see what happens.

Ok, are you sure your using the latest version of IDS? Lines 168 and 169 of v2.01 are

'// Check if the user is in the user database and return information.
idsConnectDB()

'// Check if the user is in the user database and return information.
idsConnectDB()

I have updated, I forgot to say. That didn't work either.

I still manage to reproduce the error :(

I am guessing it's with the bot. i am just not sure what. I do have like 100 vouched people there. Could that cause the problem?

This happened just now:

[08:04:57 PM] -- zO_o-SquirreL [78ms] has joined the channel using WarCraft III: The Frozen Throne (Level: 2, icon tier Night Elf, huntress icon, in clan zOlo).
[08:05:19 PM] -> Welcome to StealthBot Beta v2.7 - Build 482, by Stealth.
[08:05:19 PM] -> If you enjoy StealthBot, consider supporting its development at http://donate.stealthbot.net
[08:05:20 PM] ->>

No error. Just crashed the bot completely. :(

Since I updated, it does not give the error line, just crashes :(

Have you tried disabling that script to verify it's the source of the problem?
