Hello,

I though of somthing that the site could have. Since your post are yours, you should be able to edit ANY post you ever make. If its a month, week, day.

Just a though! :D

Considering the site does not keep logs off all versions of a post, no. It can be abused to much.
Sr. Member IIRC are allowed to edit there posts for a longer time. But not to much.

You do have to admit that 5 minutes goes by quite fast though.

Perhaps it would be nice if you could edit a post until someone replied or if your post were the first in a topic (very useful for the scripting section).

I don't think IPB supports this, though.
"As soon as we started programming, we found to our surprise that it wasn't as easy to get programs right as we had thought. Debugging had to be discovered. I can remember the exact instant when I realized that a large part of my life from then on was going to be spent in finding mistakes in my own programs."

It's 10 minutes and has been abused in the past.
I do like raylu's idea, and if IPB has something like that, I would be in favor of it.

Unlucky. I don't mind the idea of a topic creater being able to consistantly edit their first post as long as it's in the scripting section.
(Easier to update scripts, etc).

IIRC, Sr Members should be able to edit their posts for an indefinite amount of time.

If it's the same as the old boards, then yes, indefinite for senior members.

With a trick you can atleast edit your post until someone replied... If the time is already over, make a double post with whatever in it, the posts will be combined to 1 post with the postdate of the 2nd post, and you can edit again =)

Except that the board merges double posts only a short time after your first (which I think should be increased to a day or more, like the old forums). I think it's like 30 minutes to an hour though.

You should be able to delete a reply until someone else replies IIRC.

Haven't we already had a topic about this? Which we denied the request?
