That would require an entire re-write of the script because it uses a database now, instead of a .dat file.

that doesnt mean that it's too much work for TBN ;/
well just tell me if u rewrite it or not that i dont have to look for it every day

I don't see the need to re-write this script to not use a MDB database. The database is a superior method vs. what you're suggesting.

I dont understand why the users need 200 access to accesss mail....

if a user has 200 access that means they can do almost any command which isnt very smart...I have grunts and peons in my clan which need to revivce messages but I dont want them to have tha much accesss

how should i go about this?

quite easy :)

stealthbot > Bot > Command Manager > (then you see the internal bot commands and you scroll till you find the mailer script)mailer > change access :)

You haven't installed the scripts properly. Please read the sticky in the scripting forum on how to add scripts to your bot.

Users can keep messages in their inbox until they delete them, as opposed to it being deleted as soon as you read it, for example.

How do you delete all the message that you have sent for example the .mailall msg and clan rank msgs (peon, grunt and sham).

Do you want to delete the messages so no one else can get them? There's no way to do that unless you delete the mail database, which will delete all emails; saved, waiting to be read, etc.

Well can you make it so that peon/grunt can only mail to each other and cannot do .mailall or to all sham/grunt/peon. So basically can you separate the command into 5 categories (.mail, .mailall, .mail grunt, .mail peon, .mail sham.)

One is the actual MDB, the other is the recod set file that's associated with the MDB. You should remove both.

Does this support Diablo II?

My StealthBot uses Diablo II, but I want it to mail things out to members of a clan in WC3. Since a DII account can't join a WC3 clan, how do I get the bot to know who to mail to? Or can I just not use this script on Diablo II?

No, you can't use it like that. You would need two bots with the mailer script, but they would need to share the same database.

So it's compatible with D2, but I can't use the "mail" command to mail to an entire clan since clans are a WC3 thing.

While using D2 is there any way to have to be able mail a message to multiple people without having to do it one person at a time? If not I should be able to log off WC3 and change my bot's CD-keys to WC3 whenever I need to do a mass mailing. No one else will be able to mass mail besides me, but it's almost better that way.

Another question. I just did some testing and since the StealthBot uses D2 keys, I have to add @lordaeron to the name of anyone I want to mail who plays WC3. Is there a way around it? Lordaeron isn't easy to spell, and I can see it pushing people away from trying to use the mail service.

Try turning off naming conventions in the bot settings.

For your other questions, no, there is no way to mass mail people who aren't in a clan. You would have to mail each person individually.

Long time coming and a massive, epic bump, but I've finally gotten around to updating this thing. If you're updating your script, it's strongly advised you all go into the command manager and delete the existing commands from the mailer script so that the new, updated commands can take their place, and to delete your existing database.

Hopefully it's more user friendly for everyone!

Getting the following erros:

Quote

[09:42:42 PM] The following errors were detected with commands.xml...
Only 1 command element can have no enabled attribute or an enabled attribute equal to 1.

I deleded all "mail" commands and reloaded the scripts and these errors came.
But I don't understand why I should already have a command called like one in the script <.<

You'll need to disable the built-in inbox command, as well as delete your existing mail database.

Disabled the "inbox" command and now I am not sure which maildatabases I have to delete.
I have got there 3 of them.
One DAT-file, one LDB-file and one MDB-file. Which of them should I delete?

Remove the MDB and LDB. The built-in mail system uses the DAT file, this script does not.

Plus, the MDB-file is always readding itself into my folder if I reload or restart my bot.
