I'm suddenly getting this every time I reload my scripts. It was working just fine, I made an edit to one of my other scripts - Didn't touch mailer, and this came up when I reloaded the scripts.

That happens when you reload the script too many times if you have scripts that use databases. It's not a script issue, that's a general MS Access issue and only goes away if you restart the bot.

I've tried to modify this script a bit, but I can't seem to change the "mymail" command to "inbox":

Quote

Case "inbox" :Call readmailCmd(Command)

Set cmd = OpenCommand("inbox")
If cmd Is Nothing Then
Set cmd = CreateCommand("inbox")

I've also tried to add an alias when the "mymail" command was working, but then inbox didn't work either.
How do I fix this? :o

You shouldn't modify scripts if you don't know how, use the Command Manager

And Inbox is a build-in command.

That's an odd error, I've never gotten that before. I'll have to check it out.

@Foxster: This is gonna involve a little work. Disable both inbox commands, both on the script and the internal command. Then set an alias to mymail as inbox, then enable it. It should work that way, if you've already done that or it doesn't work, let me know. There's two other solutions you can try.

Btw why don't you use numbers as ID instead of O9J4? Then use 1 2 3 4 5 6... 738 instead?

Originally I wanted to make it so that people had to enter a "password" to read mail, but I think I changed it so that if you're not the person who the mail was for, you can't read it and totally forgot to switch over the system. Next major update I make to this, it will be:

  • If you're not the person who the mail's for, you can't read it
  • Each person has their own list of messages, so instead of 5 digits and numbers, it just counts up from 1 to whatever
  • A "reply" feature
  • Figure out a way so you can do a CRS rank and send mail by access levels

In my opinion there should be an .inbox command (doesn't matter) to show a message. If there are more messages then you should be able to type .readnext or something to read the next message etc untill the mails are marked as Old.
Mail is already sorted by read and new. I don't want to include a "readnext" for anti-spam purposes.

And maybe a .read ID to read a specific mail. IDs goes from 1 and towards 9999999...
You can already do that.

If you interested I might, if you are agreeable, add multi-realm support to this at some stage.

If you don't want me to fine, or you want to do it yourself fine as well.
Just think it would be valid addition.

If you don't mind me adding it, I might wait till after your next release so I don't have to do it again when your release that :P

Is multi-realm really necessary? The bot can't be in two places at once.

I found multi-realm pretty useful myself, and for other people its just cool :P

You just place the database in a 'neutral location' (I chose %APPDATA%/Stealthbot: Up one level from the actual bot folder).
Then all bots use the same database, and so the same user can receive his messages in multiple channels in the same realm.
Record Target_realm and then you can always make sure the message goes to the right person.

Plus what I did was to have an optional server arg just before the message, but if it was not there it just assumed you meant to send the message to the bot's current realm.

Quote

.Send Fallen-God This is my message -------------------------- 'Sent to realm of the bot used
.Send Fallen-God <Europe> This is my message ----------- 'Sent to Fallen-God on the european realm

If you have it set up like Bot1 is in East and Bot2 is in west, then someone can mail User1 using Bot1, then User2 in west can receive the mail that User1 sent using Bot2. You mean like that?

Almost.
Yes.
You didn't mention either way, but to clarify that the message is realm-specific.
So you can't just send a message to "User1", you have to send a message to "User1" at a particular realm.

That said, most people will only use this script for 1 bot, and so to stop them having extra hassle if no realm is specified then it assumed that they are specifying their own realm

Quote

---In EUROPE---
user1: .mail User2 Hello!
'Sends message such that Target="User2" Realm ="Europe"

user1: .mail User2 <useast> Hello!
'Sends message such that Target="User2" Realm ="USEast"

I would make it something like that

mymail (message ID) = Displays all the mail messages for the user. If there are too many messages, only the ID's will be shown. If the user provides a message ID, that message will be shown to the user. 200 access.

Yes I know, but there is no such thing as a .readnext command ;)
- Nevermind everything anyways.
