I can get both x64 and x32, I'm a programmer and must use my laptop for school, so, a lot of Word stuff. I currently got VS9.

Which one do you recommend for me?

If you're a programmer, let me fill you in. It's x86, not x32.

Prove me wrong. Don't worry, I'll wait. I don't think I ask for anything outlandish, just proof.

Edit: Also, Vista has sold almost 400 million copies world wide, I'd hope it'd be something like Vista. Windows XP had these exact same complaints when it launched, and today people love it. However, going by your response format, I'd go on to say that you were probably too young to remember any of that.

I wonder how many people have a copy of MacOSX. No point even answering about Linux (For desktop of course).

I don't believe that me being pendantic has anything to do with this discussion. But, if that's all you have left to defend Windows with, be my guest.

I searched, not a word I know...

So, which of the two?

Actually, Windows7 reaching 4% marketshare in 13 days is something to write home about. You can rant about Linux until your little idealist head explodes, but at the end of the day, 7 will still sell like hotcakes, and everyone else will remain a niche.

Sorry, I have to call you out on this, you're such a moron that you don't have the right to call other people morons, regardless if they are or not.

Quote

Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer described Windows 7's first ten days of sales as "fantastic" while in Japan yesterday. And while he didn't provide specific numbers, he did add that the first 10 days of Windows 7 sales generated more revenue than had any previous Windows version in the same time period.

....

Microsoft sold more copies of Windows than it had in any quarter in its history. Much of that was from Windows 7 pre-orders, though the company actually deferred reporting half of those sales for the current quarter.

Surprise surprise, I was right.

When governor Arnold Schwarzenegger was asked if he was going to upgrade to Windows 7, he replied: "I still love Vista, baby."

Windows 7 isn't 5 years old.... and maybe you should actually think about upgrading your 10 year old computer so it can actually support some shit... hmm. oh and also win7 torrents = bad.

Think before you say something like that...

I said 5

Ok only an estimate, I can't remember how old it is

MSI K9n Plat
AMD Athlon 6000+ @ 3.6Ghz (water cooled)
2x2GB DDR2 800
3x80GB WD HDD in raid 5 (tried a single drive incase it was messed up raid drivers.
ATI 3850...

That is more than enough to sufficiently run any os currently out.

You're right, it is. If you post specifically what your problem was in the Tech Support forum then people can help you.

Considering I do this for a living, I can trouble shoot my own problems. I am just point out, Win7 is as perfect and ready to go as most seem to think. Sure it has more support out of the box than vista, but there are some random systems that it won't properly install onto.

in other words, you are too proud to accept help. im fine with that, but you doing something for a living does not mean im not better than you at such things. i outprogram many of these so called professionals..so a job description is meaningless to me.
